Mr. Hopkins practices primarily in the areas of estate planning and administration, taxation, probate litigation, business transactions, real estate, and civil litigation. He received a B.A. in political science from the University of South Carolina in 2014, a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2017, and an LL.M. (Master of Laws in Taxation) from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2021.

While in law school, Mr. Hopkins served as the Editor in Chief for the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Journal, the second most subscribed law review journal in the nation behind only Harvard Law Review. He also served on the law school’s Pro Bono Board, Public Interest Law Society, Honor Council, and participated as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistant by aiding the elderly and needy in filing income tax returns.

Mr. Hopkins was awarded the Compleat Lawyer Award, Bronze for his recognition in professional competence, ethics, and integrity. He also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award (formerly known as the American Jurisprudence Award) for his studies in Real Estate Transactions. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Amy W. McCulloch of the Richland County Probate Court and the Honorable Walton J. McLeod, IV of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court. In 2021, he was selected as a Trust and Estate Fellow for the Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section of the American Bar Association. He was also accepted into the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) Foundation’s Dennis I. Belcher Young Leaders Program for the 2023 – 2025 term.

Mr. Hopkins is actively involved with the South Carolina Bar, the Lexington County Bar Association, the Richland County Bar Association, and the ABA Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section. He attends Shandon Baptist Church along with his wife and daughters (Katie, Millie, and Riley) and spends his spare time reading, running, and following the South Carolina Gamecocks.
