Emily joined the firm in 2012 and focuses her practice on medical malpractice defense and civil litigation. She frequently defends nurses, doctors, physician practices, and hospitals. She graduated cum laude from Wofford College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and received her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2011. In law school, she was the recipient of the CALI Award (formerly known as the American Jurisprudence Award) for Legal Drafting.

After graduating from law school, Emily served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable James R. Barber, III, where she gained valuable experience observing and assisting with motions as well as jury and non-jury trials. This opportunity exposed her to a variety of areas of law, including medical malpractice and insurance defense.
