Alan helps individuals, couples, families, business owners, and trust administrators with estate planning and probate law issues. He is also a certified tax specialist and handles tax law matters for individuals and businesses, particularly those involving income, corporate, and partnership taxes as well as tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and state and local tax authorities. Alan brings years of practical knowledge and a common sense, solution-oriented approach to each client’s unique situation.

Alan received his B.A. degree from The Citadel in 1972 and his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1976. He received an L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University in 1977.

Alan served on the Taxation Law Specialization Advisory Board from 1995 to 1998 and chaired that board in 1998. He is a member of the Richland County and South Carolina Bar Associations.

Alan has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and the Super Lawyers list in the area of tax law and as a Midlands Legal Elite in the areas of tax law and estate planning.
